Monolith was born into an imaginative landscape of relationality. The story, in its splendid form, is rooted in a fragmented gaze at the monolithic entity.

At its core, the monolith is a symbol of uniformity and stability. We see it, on the other hand, as a seamless blending of countless pieces, pieces from an all-encompassing past, present, and future. Be it our culture, our music, or our shared mythos. So we took the story of our imagined monolith within an eternally recurrent setting and told its story in a musical yet visceral form. Filling the space with its solid existence, the monolith became both the storyteller and the protagonist in this story.

A fragmented soundscape is a recurrent theme throughout this album, descriptive of the timelessness and the placelessness of our imagined cycle. Unexpected jumps and swinging moods are reminiscent to us of a protagonist’s cathartic ups and downs, and the sharp-edged rhythmic structure is our manifestation that dance is essential to this journey.

With a thrill on such pursuit, every track in this debut album contains a particle to represent the thriving evolution behind it. Who lends an ear to its lands, is free to discover its essence in their own way. After all, the monolith emerges and embraces every other.
